Eight guests threw pots on the kick wheel with the fairy chimneys as a backdrop. Every piece was fired and shipped to its maker.
The red of Kızılırmak clay carries a 3,000-year-old Avanos tradition into the present day. Our May group had eight guests, most of them sitting at a wheel for the first time.
With the patient guidance of our master potter Mehmet Usta, everyone finished their own vase. Afterwards we watched the Cappadocian sunset over refreshments on the terrace.
